What I Do
Feature writing; narrative nonfiction; nonfiction books;
Public relations copy and content for nonprofit organizations.

What I Write About
My books and articles have often focused on Louisiana history and culture--the Mississippi River and the legendary Mississippi River Road, historic bayous, and the disappearing Louisiana coast as well as natural history, museums, arts, and food. And, as an enthusiastic traveler, I also pick up subject matter wherever I go in the world.

My Approach
I try to bring curiosity, insight and humor (where fitting)to every subject in the belief that any subject can be made interesting...at least once.
I'm always open to new experiences and ready for challenging assignments.

A Glimpse Inside My Work

Nottoway Plantation
The largest extant antebellum plantation house in the south has combined 19th century charm and 21st century amenities, creating one of the most charming B&Bs around. I've written about it through its evolution.
